Abstract

This research interests are concerned “Cyber-Security of critical mobile infrastructures”. Our work aims to offer a new and innovative contribution to how remote and secure software and hardware updates of mobile railway infrastructure. Her previous research are taken into consideration intelligent approaches for realistic mobility modeling for mobile wireless network, through: a deep validation of spatial temporal features of synthetic mobility models. A flexible synthetic mobility modeling to discover trajectories for complex areas of mobile wireless networks. And, a smart collection of real-time vehicular mobility traces.
For this aim, we firstly must highlight the most impacted features by responding: How is the process to design a realistic mobility management ? What are the intelligent movement modeling of mobile infrastructures ?
How to implement intelligent and coherent mobility traces ? What are the principal conditions for mobile systems ? The future of the railway industry is in a growth phase with the rising demand for passenger and freight capacity. New passenger and freight rail networks are forming the backbone of the transport system, linking airport and cities with high speed and intercity rail networks, whilst urban areas are feeding into multi-modal local transport networks, such as metro and light rail. In all areas of the world, vast investments are planned to build rail infrastructure to provide safe, efficient and sustainable networks that deliver economic growth. Tackling climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions requires a holistic review of how we live and travel. Rail is at the heart of sustainable mobility – there is simply no cleaner collective transportation system. In terms of energy efficiency per passenger kilometer, it is the most efficient mode of public transport, as well as the most effective. With the increase in rail networks and traffic volumes, passenger and freight trains are increasing their speed and require improved protection. Rail networks and rolling stock are inherently safe, but accidents do happen and the highest level of crash energy management expertise is required.

About Nisrine IBADAH

Nisrine Ibadah received the B.Sc. in Networks and Telecommunication from Mohamed V University, a M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication and Networks from Chouaib Dokkali University. Then, she received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Telecommunication from the faculty of Sciences of Mohamed V University, Rabat, Morocco. Currently, she is working as a Postdoctoral researcher at IMT Atlantique in the SRCD department. Her research interests include network security, critical infrastructures, remote updates, cyber-physical systems, mobility management, real-time communication, and railway technologies.

About Research Update

The cyberCNI.fr Research Updates happen once per semester. They are our big status event where our PhD students, PostDocs, and Engineers present their progress, current works, and next challenges. The research update is the perfect opportunity for getting an overview on and discussing what is going on at the chair.

About the chair Cybersecurity of Critical Networked Infrastructures (cyberCNI.fr)

The Cyber CNI Chair at IMT Atlantique does research, innovation, and teaching in the field of cybersecurity for critical networked infrastructures. Such infrastructures include industrial processes, financial systems, building automation, energy networks, water treatment plants, or transportation.

The chair covers the full stack from sensors and actuators and their signals over industrial control systems, distributed services at the edge or cloud, to user interfaces with collaborative Mixed Reality, and security policies. The chair currently hosts 9 PhD students, 4 PostDocs, 11 Professors, 1 engineer, and 1 internship student.

The chair runs a large testbed that enables applied research together with the industry partners. The industry partners of the current third funding round are Airbus, BNP Paribas, EDF, and SNCF. The chaire is located in Brittany, France. Brittany is the cybersecurity region number 1 in France. The chair Cyber CNI is strongly embedded in the cybersecurity ecosystem through its partnerships with the Pôle d’Excellence Cyber (PEC) and the Brittany Region.

The chair provides a unique environment for cybersecurity research with lots of development possibilities.
