The Cyber CNI Chair at IRISA’s 50th anniversary!
On June 4, 2025, IRISA (Institut de Recherche en Informatique et Systèmes Aléatoires) celebrated its 50th anniversary on the Beaulieu campus in Rennes. The event marked an important moment in the history of one of France’s leading computer science research laboratories. Numerous researchers, academic and industrial partners were present. Together, they celebrated half a century of discoveries, innovations and collaborations.
A presence at the heart of the ecosystem
Industrial research chairs are an important pillar of IRISA. The CyberCNI chair could not miss this event. Our chairholder, Marc-Oliver PAHL, was accompanied by a delegation of industrial and institutional partners, including EDF and the Cyber excellence center. It’s a great pleasure to be part of an innovative and inspiring ecosystem like IRISA’s.

Long-term collaboration with industry
The Cyber CNI Chair is a concrete example of a partnership between public research and the private sector. As IRISA reminds us :
« Research collaboration through Industrial Chairs involves long-term collaboration between a research establishment and companies in a high-priority, strategic field.»
Chairs have a dual purpose. They not only advance research, but also train the scientists of tomorrow. This type of partnership builds bridges between theory and the real needs of industry.
A forward-looking anniversary
At this celebration, guests gathered around Guillaume Gravier, Director of Irisa, who reviewed the major scientific advances made since 1975. The event was also an opportunity to talk about the future. IRISA continues to innovate in key areas for our digital society.
The Cyber CNI Chair is proud to be part of this dynamic. It continues to work alongside IRISA to meet the challenges of cybersecurity in an increasingly connected world.
