Chaire Cyber CNI – Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures

Participation in the 110th Presidium meeting of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. in Siegburg

The Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) recently held its 110th presidium meeting in Siegburg at the Katholisch-Soziales Institut. The event brought together specialists from all over Germany. Together, they discussed the major issues influencing IT today.

Several important topics were discussed. Firstly, the updated recommendations for training courses in administrative IT (Verwaltungsinformatik). Secondly, the development of services for the NFDIxCS national research data infrastructure. The development of a Master’s degree in Research Software Engineering (RSE) was also discussed.

In addition, an ideation workshop was organized to imagine a future Haus der Informatik (House of Informatics). This project aims to create a space dedicated to science, discovery and dialogue. Participants also brainstormed on ways to make IT more sustainable. Finally, the strengthening of regional communities and local groups within IM was another focal point.

Professor Marc-Oliver Pahl, holder of the Cyber CNI Chair, actively contributed to the discussions. He shared his expertise on community structuring and development. These discussions enriched the work carried out within the Chair.

In the end, the meeting enabled progress to be made on several concrete projects. It also encouraged the creation of synergies between research, training and community involvement.
