Job description

IMT Atlantique

Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research and innovation.

The position will be based in the Cybersecurity Network Systems and Digital Law (SRCD) teaching and research department on the Rennes campus. It will be closely linked to the Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures industrial research chair (https://cyberCNI.fr) and the Horizon Europe CyberSecDome project (https://cybersecdome.eu/).

The integration of virtual reality (VR) into cybersecurity represents a paradigm shift in the way we perceive, analyze and mitigate cyberthreats. By leveraging the immersive capabilities of VR, cybersecurity professionals can transcend the limitations of traditional interfaces and gain unrivalled situational awareness and understanding of complex networks. The

visualization of complex data sets, network topologies and

network topologies and threat landscapes in real time in a three-dimensional virtual environment not only enhances the user experience, but also provides an intuitive and interactive platform for in-depth risk analysis.

VR technology enables cybersecurity experts to accurately navigate an ever-changing threat landscape, proactively identifying vulnerabilities and quickly responding to potential breaches. The immersive nature of VR not only improves the efficiency of cybersecurity tasks, but also promotes collaboration and decision-making, making it a transformative tool for securing critical infrastructures in our increasingly digital world.

  1. MISSIONS

Under the functional responsibility of the head of the Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures industrial research chair, the missions are as follows:

  1. Implement prototypes on immersive data analysis, situational awareness, risk analysis, remote collaboration and remote security management for critical infrastructures.
  2. Work closely with industrial partners such as Airbus, BNP Paribas, EDF and SNCF, within the Cybersecurity for Critical National Infrastructures industrial chair (https://cyberCNI.fr).
  3. Play a central role in the decompartmentalization of the European Horizon Europe CyberSecDome project, which aims to meet the ever-changing challenges of the cybersecurity landscape (https://cybersecdome.eu/).
