The CNI Cyber Chair at « the IRISA-SOTERN Research Seminar » !
On July 10 and 11, 2025, the Cyber CNI Chair, the critical infrastructure cybersecurity research center at IMT Atlantique, took part in « the IRISA-SOTERN Research Seminar ». This annual scientific event brought together researchers and experts to discuss current cybersecurity issues. It provided an opportunity to share advances, exchange ideas and forge new links.
An important event for cybersecurity researchers
The seminar provided an opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics. Among them: cyber defense, attack detection, disinformation and deception technologies
The CNI Cyber Chair took advantage of this event to present its recent work. It was also able to enrich its thinking through exchanges with other specialists.
Highlights from the Chair at the IRISA-SOTERN Research Seminar!
Mathis Durand presented his research on Honeypots. These systems, designed to trap cybercriminals, need to be credible to be effective. His presentation opened a debate on how to increase the realism of these devices. The presentation provided a better understanding of the value of these tools in a defense strategy.

Elie Chedemail explored the theme of online disinformation and fake news. He explained how they circulate. He also presented ways of detecting them more quickly. This highly topical subject generated a large number of reactions.

Closer collaboration with the IRISA/SOTERN team
The IRISA-SOTERN Research Seminar also strengthened ties between the CNI Cyber Chair and SOTERN. The two teams share a common desire to develop innovative tools to protect critical systems, and new ideas for joint projects emerged from the exchanges.
🙏 We would like to thank Guillaume Doyen, Renzo Navas and the entire SOTERN team for hosting and organizing this successful event.
A chair dedicated to cybersecurity
The Cyber CNI Chair, created in 2018 at IMT Atlantique, is today France’s largest industrial chair dedicated to cybersecurity. It conducts research into attack detection, system resilience and critical infrastructure protection, and works closely with industrial and academic partners, important players in its research process.
