Chaire Cyber CNI – Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures

Research Update – Fall 2025 : A Milestone for the Cyber CNI Chair

On September 30, 2025, we had the pleasure of being welcomed by our industrial partner Airbus Defense & Space and Airbus Protect in Élancourt for the Research Update Cyber CNI Fall 2025.

This event was a resounding success. It brought together numerous representatives from our partners, featured fascinating presentations, and, above all, fostered rich and strategic discussions about the future of cybersecurity.

A strategic meeting for the Chair

Research Updates are central to the Cyber CNI Chair’s dynamic.
Held twice a year, they create a unique space for connecting researchers and industry professionals, promoting collaboration, and guiding research projects according to the concrete needs of the industry.

This edition once again demonstrated how essential these meetings are for advancing the Chair’s work and defining the next steps together.

Inspiring research presentations

Our doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and engineers presented the results of their work during interactive sessions.

The topics covered were varied and stimulating :

  • Traceability of critical open source components (CodeLedger),
  • Realism of Cyber Threat Intelligence infrastructures,
  • Strategic selection of probes for intrusion detection,
  • Decentralized approaches to incident response,
  • Quantum algorithms to strengthen cybersecurity,
  • Disinformation as a cyber threat,
  • European CyberSecDome project, with a live demonstration.

These presentations illustrated the diversity and relevance of the Chair’s research, which is directly linked to current and future cybersecurity challenges.

A poster session conducive to discussion

After a convivial lunch, the afternoon was devoted to a poster session, which allowed partners to meet researchers face-to-face and explore specific topics in greater depth.

Three main themes structured the discussions:

  • Threat Detection: SBOMs, honeynets, digital twins, probe placement,
  • Automated Defense: decentralized and bio-inspired defenses, combating disinformation,
  • Novel Methodologies: quantum algorithms, next-generation interfaces.

These direct exchanges helped to strengthen mutual understanding and bring academic research and industrial needs closer together.

Workshops to draw up the roadmap

The day ended with two collaborative workshops:

  1. A workshop on demonstrations, to define research priorities and future experiments.
  2. A communication workshop, to present the Chair’s communication strategy and launch a series of regular meetings with the partners’ communication teams.

These workshops enabled us to draw up a joint roadmap and identify new avenues for collaboration.

A successful and energetic day

The Cyber CNI Fall 2025 Research Update was much more than a scientific event: it was a genuine human encounter, where presentations, discussions, and workshops highlighted the vitality and commitment of the Chair’s community.

The meeting also marked the launch of the first theses of phase IV, a key moment for the Chair and its collaborations with industrial partners.

We warmly thank Airbus Defense & Space and Airbus Protect for their hospitality, as well as all our partners for their active participation.

👉 See you at the Research Update – Spring 2026 to continue this momentum !
