Research Update 2026: The CNI Cyber Chair Mobilizes Its Ecosystem
The chair Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures (Cyber CNI) held its Spring 2026 Research Update on Tuesday, April 7, at EDF Labs in Palaiseau. The event brought together its industrial partners Airbus Defence and Space,Airbus PROTECT, Astek, and EDF as well as the Foundation Mines Télécom and the three IMT schools : IMT Atlantique, Télécom Paris, and Télécom SudParis.
The Research Updates provide an opportunity to share scientific advancements and to align research efforts with the operational realities of the partners.
Each presentation sparked in-depth exchanges, fostering engaged and constructive discussions between academic and industrial teams.

Topics at the heart of today’s cybersecurity challenges
The research presented covered several key areas of cybersecurity for critical infrastructures :
- the development of deception infrastructure for threat intelligence,
- decentralized approaches to incident response,
- the prospects of quantum computing applied to cybersecurity,
- challenges related to disinformation and information manipulation,
- digital twins for cyber resilience,
- next-generation interfaces based on extended reality (XR).
Furthermore, the European CyberSecDome project, which brings together I’lMT Atlantique and Airbus, among others, illustrates the development of new approaches to cybersecurity management and visualization.
In this way, this work reflects the chair’s ambition: to combine scientific excellence, technological innovation, and industrial applicability.

Stronger partnerships and concrete prospects
The numerous discussions identified concrete opportunities for collaboration, including the development of prototypes, joint publications, and the commercialization of research findings.
The event clearly strengthened France’s cybersecurity ecosystem by fostering a lasting partnership between academic research and industry needs on high-impact topics.

A Commitment to Openness
The Chair is also delighted to welcome new partners and intends to continue this commitment to openness, fostering ever closer and more meaningful collaboration.
Finally, the Cyber CNI Chair would like to thank EDF for hosting the event, as well as all participants for the quality of their contributions and discussions.
