In her 90s research elevator pitch, our PhD student Manel SMINE presented her work on “Software-defined Security for Network Function Virtualization”.
The chaire Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures (https://cyberCNI.fr) currently hosts 9 PhD students, 2 PostDocs and 10 professors. The elevator pitches give a quick overview on the current topics. Longer presentations are available on the website.

The chaire cyberCNI at the ECW 2022
The chair Cybersecurity for Critical Networked Infrastructures (cyberCNI) is organizing a session at the European Cyber Week (ECW) in Rennes. On Wednesday, Nov 16, 2022 from 9h30am to 12h00pm there will be a rich program. Join on-site in Rennes and online via the links below. Please share the info!
The first session is on the chair and its partners. It contains a presentation of the chair and its activities as well as short testimonials by the industry partners.
The second session is on the research. It consists of 90s elevator pitches by the chair’s researchers. A panel discussion follows. Around the motto “How safe are our critical infrastructures under the current geopolitical circumstances?”, moderated five experts from industry discuss current cybersecurity topics.
The day is hosted by our chairholder Marc-Oliver Pahl.

About the Chair cyberCNI.fr
Since 2016, the Cyber CNI Chair at IMT Atlantique does research, innovation, and teaching in the field of cybersecurity for critical networked infrastructures. Such infrastructures include industrial processes, financial systems, building automation, energy networks, water treatment plants, or transportation.
The chair covers the full stack from sensors and actuators and their signals over industrial control systems, distributed services at the edge or cloud, to user interfaces with collaborative Mixed Reality, and security policies. The chair currently hosts 9 PhD students, 4 PostDocs, 11 Professors, 1 engineer, and 1 internship student.
The chair runs a large testbed that enables applied research together with the industry partners. The industry partners of the current third funding round are Airbus, BNP Paribas, EDF, and SNCF. The chaire is located in Brittany, France. Brittany is the cybersecurity region number 1 in France. The chair Cyber CNI is strongly embedded in the cybersecurity ecosystem through its partnerships with the Pôle d’Excellence Cyber (PEC) and the Brittany Region.
The chair provides a unique environment for cybersecurity research with lots of development possibilities.
About the European Cyber Week
The European Cyber Week brings together a French and European ecosystem of excellence, rich in diversity and high-level speakers. It is a source of meetings between players in the sovereign sector, and also offers the possibility of high value-added exchanges between suppliers and users of cyber security solutions.
It is a reference event in the field for strategic thinking, research and operational implementation, and is also a convivial networking space for all its participants.
Topics with a European dimension will be addressed throughout the event, with a special focus on Wednesday. On this day, high quality speakers from EU institutions, industry representatives and regional authorities will discuss the status and future developments of the cooperation, as well as the new European cybersecurity policy framework.
