Disinformation driven by generative artificial intelligence poses new challenges for cybersecurity, society, and regulation. This Europe-wide research project, led by the Cyber CNI Chair in collaboration with Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and IMT Atlantique, invites experts to share their insights through a short academic survey.
In a collective publication from the Pôle d’excellence cyber, Marc-Oliver Pahl, Cyber CNI Chair at IMT Atlantique, analyzes the challenges and opportunities of trusted artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and defense.
Luis Soeiro, a doctoral researcher at IMT Atlantique’s Cyber CNI Chair, has built the world’s largest public SBOM database by analyzing over 94 million GitHub repositories. His work sheds new light on the quality, format, and reliability of Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) in open source—an essential yet overlooked tool in securing the software supply chain.
Luis Soeiro, a PhD student at the CNI Cyber Chair, presented a groundbreaking research paper on SBOMs (Software Bills of Materials) at the MSR 2025 international conference. By analyzing over 94 million GitHub repositories, he has built up the largest public database of SBOMs to date. This study, which has been hailed by the community, provides concrete data to reinforce the transparency and security of software chains. A great recognition for the CNI Cyber Chair, and an important step towards more reliable cybersecurity.
