Luis Soeiro, a PhD student at the CNI Cyber Chair, presented a groundbreaking research paper on SBOMs (Software Bills of Materials) at the MSR 2025 international conference. By analyzing over 94 million GitHub repositories, he has built up the largest public database of SBOMs to date. This study, which has been hailed by the community, provides concrete data to reinforce the transparency and security of software chains. A great recognition for the CNI Cyber Chair, and an important step towards more reliable cybersecurity.
Doctorant au sein de la Chaire Cyber CNI, Luis Soeiro a présenté à la conférence internationale MSR 2025 un travail de recherche inédit sur les SBOMs (Software Bills of Materials). En analysant plus de 94 millions de dépôts GitHub, il a constitué la plus grande base de données publique de SBOMs à ce jour. Cette étude, saluée par la communauté, apporte des données concrètes pour renforcer la transparence et la sécurité des chaînes logicielles. Une belle reconnaissance pour la Chaire Cyber CNI et un pas important vers une cybersécurité plus fiable.

As in the past year, the chair cyberCNI.fr was well represented at the Colloque de la communauté « Risques & Cyber » : Sécurité et Résilience of Institut Mines Télécom. On April 13, 2022, Léo Lavaur and Nicolas Delcombel presented two posters to the interested audience. In addition, Anthony Lucas from our strong collaboration with the LPSS team in Brest showed his poster. Thanks a lot for the very nice discussions and the interest in our work!
Our multidisciplinary team around Marc-Oliver Pahl (Professor, Chaire cyberCNI.fr, IMT Atlantique, UMR IRISA/SOTERN, Rennes), Yehya Nasser (Maitre de Conférence, IMT Atlantique/Lab-STICC/2AI, Brest, France) and Mohammed Nassar (Associate Professor, University of New Haven, Cyber-Crime Center, USA) won a prestigious CREACH LABS funding for research on a “Realtime AI-Based Power Assisted Malware Predictor”! Now we are looking for an exceptionally talented PhD student developing this project with us.
