CyberSecDome Final Plenary Meeting Brings Partners Together in Chania

The CyberSecDome final plenary meeting took place on 2–3 June 2026 in Chania, Crete, bringing together project partners from across Europe to review progress, coordinate final activities, and prepare for the project’s final review. Hosted by the Technical University of Crete, the meeting marked an important milestone for one of Horizon Europe’s innovative cybersecurity projects.

CyberSecDome is developing an innovative virtual reality-based approach for intrusion detection, incident investigation, and cyber incident response. The project combines advanced cybersecurity technologies with immersive visualisation and collaborative decision-making to strengthen the resilience, security, privacy, and accountability of complex digital infrastructures.

Preparing for the Final Project Review

A central objective of the CyberSecDome final plenary meeting was to prepare for the project’s final review. During the two-day event, partners reviewed project achievements and upcoming deliverables. They also discussed the remaining milestones and agreed on an action plan for the final months of the project.

Moreover, the consortium reviewed progress across the technical work packages. Partners assessed the status of integration activities and identified the final steps needed before project completion. Particular attention was given to the demonstration scenarios that will be presented during the final review.

Representing the Chair Cyber CNI, IMT Atlantique, and IRISA were Marc-Oliver Pahl and Fabien Eyssartier. They contributed to discussions on cybersecurity visualisation, platform integration, and incident response capabilities. In addition, they exchanged ideas with partners on future collaboration opportunities.

Progress on Pilots and Integration Activities

The CyberSecDome final plenary meeting also provided an opportunity to review the industrial pilot deployments involving OTE and AIA. Partners presented their latest results and shared lessons learned. They also discussed the remaining validation activities planned before the project’s conclusion.

Furthermore, a dedicated integration workshop focused on technical coordination between partners. The session addressed open implementation issues and the preparation of Deliverable D4.5. As a result, the consortium gained a clear overview of the work that remains before the final review.

CyberSecDome shows how immersive environments can support cybersecurity operations. At the same time, advanced analytics help operators detect threats, investigate incidents, and coordinate response actions more efficiently.

Open Call Projects Showcase

Another important topic of the CyberSecDome final plenary meeting was the review of the six Open Call sub-projects. These projects contributed new ideas, technologies, and validation activities to the CyberSecDome ecosystem.

The consortium reviewed progress from SECURE-CLAIM, CASPER, DRACOS, PRINIA-CDS, AUTODOME, and FINCARE. Together, these initiatives expanded the technological reach of the project. They also demonstrated the value of collaboration across different cybersecurity domains.

Chair Cyber CNI Participation

For the Chair Cyber CNI team, the meeting offered an excellent opportunity to exchange with project partners. It also helped prepare the final phase of the project. Marc-Oliver Pahl and Fabien Eyssartier participated in discussions on cyber situational awareness, cyber defence, and incident response processes.

In addition, the event enabled partners to align dissemination, exploitation, and standardisation activities. These efforts will support the long-term impact of the project’s results after its completion.

The Chair Cyber CNI continues to contribute to European cybersecurity research. Through its projects, the Chair addresses cyber resilience, cyber defence, and the protection of critical infrastructures. Looking Ahead

Hosted in the historic Grand Arsenal building overlooking Chania’s Venetian harbour, the CyberSecDome final plenary meeting highlighted the strong collaboration built throughout the project.

As CyberSecDome enters its final stage, partners remain focused on delivering a successful final review. They are also committed to demonstrating the value of immersive cybersecurity technologies for European organisations. Overall, the meeting confirmed both the maturity of the platform and the consortium’s commitment to innovation in cyber defence and cyber resilience.
