At the occasion of the IMT symposium on “Crisis Management and Digital Technologies: new Threats and new Solutions”, our chairholder Marc-Oliver Pahl gave a keynote on “Cybersécurité collaborative renforcée par la réalité virtuelle pour les infrastructures critiques” / “Virtual reality-enhanced collaborative cybersecurity for critical infrastructures”. Europe’s cybersecurity and cyberdefense community met in Rennes for the 6th edition of the European Cyber Week (ECW) from Nov 16-18, 2021. Together with our chairholder Marc-Oliver Pahl, Léo Lavaur, Anthony David, and Nicolas Delcombel, three of our PhD students, presented a demo on our research line covering Virtual Reality interfaces for improving human-machine communication in cybersecurity.
The chair is also active in teaching. The final year student project “Autoprotection : éthique VS agents autonomes et algorithmes” looks at an important aspect of our technology-dependent world: ethical aspects of autonomous functionality. Good examples are self-driving / autonomous cars, building automation, or production sites. Maintaining and increasing cybersecurity are a key goals for autonomous functionality. Enjoy the video of the intermediate presentation with the current results! (in French)
Europe’s cybersecurity and cyberdefense community met in Rennes for the 6th edition of the European Cyber Week (ECW). The chaire CyberCNI.fr plays an important role in the cybersecurity ecosystem and is well connected. This led to strong presence and numerous great meetings.
The TRUE-VIEW project presented a paper on Faked Mixed Reality at the 3rd FakeMM workshop. The paper discusses the risks coming with the increased use of virtual reality for critical tasks and its potential to fake reality within the cyberspace.
From October 2020 to March 2021, Thibault de Swarte and I, Marc-Oliver Pahl, had the pleasure to work together with our engineering students Edouard FORTUNET, Ludovic FRANCIS, Paul GERMAINE and Quentin JEZEQUEL on an exciting topic: how to use applications to manage crisis better! Enjoy this report and have a look at the final presentation of the results.
Today we presented our ongoing works on the Cyber CNI experimentation platform at the European Cyber Week (ECW) / Computer & Electronics Security Applications Rendez-vous (C&ESAR)!
On Oct 30, 2020 we had a very successful kickoff of the TRUE-VIEW project funded by the German-French Academy for the Industry of the Future (GFA).
The TRUE-VIEW project is making ambient data flows such as data exchange between a certain sensor and a certain App visible with the help of Mixed Reality. By doing so, what is hidden in the ambiance will become perceivable to humans, and possible to investigate, analyze, understand, and form an opinion about.
